'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Ethan Galbraith resumes battle with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith grins broadly as he reminisces about the dramatic final moments of his team's remarkable turnaround win against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup. The game culminated with Galbraith temporarily wearing a fan's glasses amid the post-goal scrum.

As the match entered added time, Galbraith struck the post with a long-range shot from 25 yards, and his teammate quickly hammered in the loose ball before racing off toward the crowd to mark the goal, with the crowd congregating around the players.

Remarkable Recovery

This capped an unbelievable recovery given Swansea had been behind 2-0 midway through the latter period. In the celebrations, there was some unintended consequences. He shared, "There was a spectator sort of calling out and we were wondering: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a bit of banter putting them on. We are on the pitch as footballers but we're people, too, so to have a joke with the fans is always good."

Premier League Giants

The result booked a next round game at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, a team Galbraith came close against at the equivalent round of the FA Cup with his former club in February. Galbraith had a prime vantage point when his former team took the lead in remarkable manner, with Jamie Donley's long-range effort from about way out going in via the woodwork and the City goalkeeper. Many argued that it was deemed an own goal.

"You would have expected they would've given it to him for attempting the shot from that far out," says Galbraith, who played in the middle before switching to right flank after the team changed formation. That meant facing off against City's winger, with whom he swapped shirts, and the winger was among the Manchester squad who paid tribute to the way Orient played positively.

Opponent's Class

"Physically they are outstanding but even the basics and routine actions, they can just perform consistently," Galbraith says. "It seems as if they complete every delivery and they know how to manage and slow down a game. You can think you're all right and then abruptly they will just fizz a pass through a line without you even noticing. You have to be focused every second of the game. It requires a resilient mindset and attention just to stay in the game."

Swansea Move

The club sought to acquire Galbraith in January and secured his signature to bring him in in the summer in a seven-figure transfer. He made a name as a fans' favourite across multiple campaigns at Orient and has rapidly achieved similar status in his new home. At the London club he joined forces once more with Richie Wellens, who previously gave Galbraith his initial sustained opportunity in first-team action on loan at his loan club from Manchester United. Then came a temporary move at League Two the Manchester club, before he moved on from Old Trafford.

Growth Journey

"I was likely a somewhat inexperienced going into professional soccer. I think many athletes would say under-23s football is entirely separate. Sometimes it feels like possession is exchanged without serious challenge. There's not many physical contests. Once you start playing professional matches you have to learn quickly."

International Recognition

His progress reflects that development for his team and nation, shining for the Green and White Army, who remain in contention for the World Cup next summer via the playoffs and for whom he has featured in the past five games, including both legs games against Germany. The ex-coach, Galbraith's former international manager, gave him the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "little Iniesta or Xavi" given how he manipulates the ball and his ability to spot a decisive through ball.

Early Days

This marks quite the ride for the player from the neighborhood in his hometown, just outside the capital, who was raised observing his parent, the elder Galbraith, also a engine room operator, play for a local club.

Manchester United Experience

The player's sole appearance for United came in the away trip in 2019, a Europa League trip to the Kazakh capital, where they featured on an plastic turf and the venue ceiling was shut owing to the weather of -15C. "It was a long trip and it was chilly," he says, grinning. "The preceding week, several youth players and I worked out jointly, so that aided our adjustment. Just to travel with the first team and make an appearance at the end was incredible."

Departing Old Trafford

How difficult was it to move on from Old Trafford, the club he transferred from aged 16? "It was fairly simple, because I got to the stage where I realized I wouldn't break through at first-team level. I'm extremely thankful for the years at the club but it got to the point where I felt I required a fresh start, join a smaller club and play men's football. Now I'm gradually progressing again."

Welsh Adaptation

This occurs during the middle of the day at Swansea's Fairwood training base but Galbraith has a commitment at the early evening: a driving theory test, another step towards getting on the road. Prior to relocating to Sketty, the 24-year-old was a constant rider in Swansea's so-called fun bus, a team vehicle driven by academy staff, the transport team, which ferries players to and from training and matches.

"I travel with the Portuguese player, another squad member, Malick Yalcouyé – Melker Widell used to be in it but has started driving. It's pleasant to spend time with the guys but I'm planning to be the subsequent individual to drive independently and behind the wheel. His teammate likes to pull a few pranks; he's frequently playing tricks."

Fan Interactions

While playing for his former club, Galbraith would mix with followers on the Tube after beginning his trip at his base. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
